They are kind, brave, bumbling, and of course, unforgettable. The characters, however, stayed true in both media aspects. The absurdity, however, sometimes took me out of this world of wonder and beauty. Bandits who love tacos, and wizards who are also martial arts experts â€“ maybe the author was ahead of his time? The best thing about The Last Unicorn by Peter S. I didnâ€™t know what to expect, but I honestly think that watching the wonderful movie, really helped me enjoy the book much more. I previously have seen the movie, which is still one of my favorites, and when I found the book in my Little Free Library I immediately grabbed it. She meets Schmendrick the magician who helps her escape and reach King Haggardâ€™s castle, where the Unicornsâ€™ enemy, the Red Bull, resides. The Unicorn gets captured by Mommy Fortunaâ€™s traveling carnival, who put magical spells on animals to make them seem like magical creatures. Upon hearing this the Unicorn is driven to leave the protection of the magical forest, only to discover that humans canâ€™t even recognize her, and only see a white mare. Traveling throughout a magical forest, a unicorn hears hunters say she might be the last of her kind. This classic novel has been translated into 25 languages (at least), and is considered to be among the best fantasy novels ever written. Beagle is a fantasy novel following a unicorn who believes sheâ€™s the last of her kind.
